January 11'

SNOW!
I realize that to many of you looking at this, it's not really snow but, in Southern California where it "snows" once every 20 years, this is SNOW! It only lasted the afternoon and it was 80 degrees 2 weeks later but, it was really cool to see.

 

Tangled

My mom and I took the kids to see Tangled in the theater. They were both mesmerized. Ethan really liked it (I even saw him tear up a few times during the sad parts) but, Jadyn LOVED it! She asks everyday if we can get her an "Apunzel" costume so she can be Rapunzel for Halloween. She also told Erik she needs a big tower, not a small one, so she can let down her hair to let people up.

Santa Barbara Zoo

Wonderful day to go to the zoo! It was warmer than at home, not busy and so many of the animals were out! The kids loved it and all conked out in the car with the exception of Miss Lillian who yapped all the way home!

8 Year Wedding Anniversary

Well, it wasn't Hawaii like we were hoping but, it was a perfect Disneyland day! I had emailed Erik's boss to see if he could have the day off and had babysitting set up but, I spilled the beans the night before! The kids were being crazy and I was getting ready to head out for coffee with the girls. Erik kept asking "so when can your mom watch the kids so we can go to Disneyland?" I could have sworn he knew something but, he didn't. Anyway, the surprise helped get him through the rest of the night with our crazy kids. The weather was perfect and the park wasn't busy so it was a great day.

Jadyn is Potty Trained!

Jadyn is finally potty trained!! We'll never have to buy another case of pull-ups or diapers from Costco again! She has been going on the potty for months now but, didn't tell us when she had to go. We decided after the 1st of the year we were really going to crack down on the whole potty training thing. It took about 2 weeks to get her to tell us when she had to go but, it's done!!! I think Erik and I are more excited than she is!

Back to School

Ethan went back to school. He didn't care at all about telling his friend about what he got for Christmas, how he learned to tie his shoes or about all the cool stuff we did. He only wanted to inform EVERYONE about his first loose tooth! He was super excited!

Kid Story 1(really wish I had a picture)

Ethan likes to play Indiana Jones and Jadyn loves to do whatever Ethan is doing so, one morning they were playing Indiana Jones, Ethan was Indiana and Jadyn was Elsa. They are jumping over lava, climbing rocks etc... when Ethan says "it's almost our wedding day! We better go get ready!" Jadyn "Yeah!". They run upstairs and come back down in their snuggies, Ethan still wearing his Indiana Jones hat. They sit on the ottoman in the family room and wait for a minute until Ethan says "ok, it's our turn." (Apparently it was a mass ceremony.) They stand on top of the Wii Fit for a minute and Ethan says "Ok, we're done, they took our picture." They sit back down on the ottoman and Jadyn says "Can we dance now?" Of course Ethan says "not right now" and goes back to jumping over lava etc...

Jadyn: Story 2

Most nights the kids go right to bed after their stories but, sometimes Jadyn will quietly start asking "Daddy?, daddy?, daddy?..." She used to say mommy but, she knows I won't come back in after I say goodnight. Finally after about 10-15 "daddy's" Erik goes in... "Jadyn what do you want?" Jadyn "I want my mommy." Such a stinker! If you can't get mommy find someone who can!
