May 15'

Crazy/Fun May!

Wings for Life World Run
Sunday, May 3rd at 4am Erik and I ran in the Wings for Life World Run here in Santa Clarita. Thirty-five locations across the world run at the same time and the race isn't over until the pace car (that starts 30 minutes after the 4am start time) catches you!
Erik did 16.95km (10.53 miles) and I completed 18.25km (11.34 miles) before the pace car caught us. We had to take it easy since we had Disneyland the next day :)

After the race at 6am

Disneyland / California Adventure
May 4th and 5th we stayed down in Anaheim for California Adventure and Disneyland with the Jegel clan. Grama Jean and Papa treated us as our Christmas/Birthday gifts this year! Always  a good time!
First time on the swinging farris wheel car. Not everyone's favorite :)

Last ride of the trip. Second time on Space Mountain!

Mother's Day
Mother's Day started on Saturday night, Erik took me to dinner at Bella Cucina. The food was really good, I should let him take me to dinner more often:) Sunday we spent the day by the pool and had Stonefire at Grama Jean and Papa's house. Monday my mom and I went to breakfast at Corner Bakery, had pedicures and walked around the lake at Bridgeport. A lovely 3 days of celebrating being a mom and having great moms in my life!
My mom and Jean (my second mom) are hard acts to follow. They have both been such amazing influences on what I aspire to be as a mom. Happy Mother's Day!

Erik's 38th Birthday
We celebrated E's birthday with the family during Tuesday and Wednesday night dinner with the families. So much good food all week! They also did lunch and a cake at work.
On the 23rd I took 1/2 a day off so we could enjoy the afternoon and head down for our evening at the Bonaventure Hotel. I surprised Erik by booking a night at the hotel. We enjoyed dinner at the revolving Bonaventure Lounge and went to Omaha Steaks the next morning before heading home. It was nice to sleep in, especially since Erik hadn't been feeling great and the room next door had a party until about 4am! (I guess we're just old!)
Ribs, stuffed potatoes and asparagus at Grama Jean and Papa's House

Cake that Susan made at work. Erik got his own little cake so he wouldn't contaminate anyone since he wasn't feeling good for a few days:)

Good look :)

Ethan
Ethan received the award for the character pillar of Fairness this month. We are so proud of him and the great kid he is. Congrats Ethan!
He also got to go to the Dodger game with Papa this month. His favorite part was the cotton candy:)
