Last Days of Summer 2017
We squeezed in a few last minute "treats and activities" from our "pick one" bags. We tried Rita's, Italian Ice, went to see Happy Feet II at the $1 movie with Lillian and Addie and the kids had their first ever Slurpee from 7-Eleven (not all the same day!). Turns out they don't like the carbonation in the Slurpee's since they never drink soda :)
Erik and I got in one more date night, Lucille's take-out, a walk and a movie (finally watched La La Land).

First Day of 4th Grade
Jadyn got a teacher who is new to Emblem, Ms. Ungerman. She's bummed she isn't in class with her buddy Grace but she likes her teacher and sees Grace at lunch.

First Day of 8th Grade 
Ethan started the day after Jadyn. He's on Team Viper with Mrs. Tracey as his homeroom/English teacher. He was super excited and thinks she's the most hilarious person on the planet.
I attended his Open House a few weeks in and his teachers are all great!

Papa's 27th Birthday!
Sunday, August 20th we celebrated Papa's 27th birthday with a pool party/barbecue.

Back to School for Torey
Once the kids were all settled into their new schedules I started back teaching a class at College of the Canyons! It's been 6 years but I was offered a chance to teach the Interior Design 101A: Intro to Interior Design lecture class and I couldn't pass it up. What can I say... I was bored and needed something else to do! :) I teach Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-7:50pm so life is a little more busy those nights.
I also had to go back to wearing glasses for driving at night so now the kids say I look like a teacher and Jadyn and I match :)
