2004

January
We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary with a trip to Sea World and San Diego. I was about 8 weeks pregnant and sick most of the time but we hadn't told anyone yet. At 10 weeks we surprised Mom, Billy, Jean and Carl after dinner at the condo. We were showing them slides of our trip and "Here comes trouble" was the last slide... They were excited to say the least :)

February
I had my first ultrasound. I was sick the first few months and gained 35 pounds! All in all Ethan was pretty chill but it got hard to move towards the end since he was so tall.
In 2004 I left and returned to Norwalk Furniture due to a change in ownership etc. Luckily I was let go not long before my due date so I was able to stay home (except for teaching at night) when Ethan was born.

September
At 38 weeks we found out Ethan was breech. The doctor tried to turn him with no luck so we scheduled a c-section for the soonest date available, September 11th. Ethan Mekhi Jegel was born via c-section at Kaiser in Woodland Hills on September 11th at 10:17am.
8 lbs 10 oz and 21.65" long. The delivery was more scary and painful than I had imagined. I ended up with spinal headaches due to the epidural. I felt like a mess so I wouldn't let anyone take my picture in the hospital, which of course I now regret!
While I was in surgery we left an envelope of letters to keep the grandparents and kooks occupied. They were trying to figure out Ethan's middle name... They came up with Mikeh instead of Mekhi :)
Ethan was a good sleeper from the beginning and started sleeping 5-6 hours at night by 4-6 weeks old.

October
We took Ethan on his first road trip to Santa Barbara, at a month old, for Uncle Jare and Auntie Meaghan's wedding at the Biltmore.
We stayed at the Cabrillo Inn at the Beach along with the rest of the Stotts and DeMartines family.

Wedding Day!
The wedding was beautiful! Outside in a round followed by the reception in a large room right on the ocean. Ethan got passed around like a little football, I think I only got to see him when his diaper needed to be changed! and Meaghan had a beautiful ceremony in the round at the Biltmore in Santa Barbara. I was one of 11 bridesmaids and about 300 guests!
Ethan kept mommy up all night wetting out of his diaper 3 times so I was a little worse for wear the day of the wedding but it was a wonderful day!
It didn't last long but he looked so cute in his black cords and sweater vest

The day after the wedding we had breakfast on the pier at The Harbor Restaurant before heading home.

Happy Halloween!
We took Ethan for his first Lombardi Ranch visit at just over 1 month old. Grama Jean made his precious mouse costume. He slept most of Halloween while we brought him to the grandparents houses and eventually changed him into his "glow-in-the-dark" Halloween pj's.
So cute! Ethan mostly slept...

November
Sunday, November 21st we had Ethan dedicated at First Christian Church of North Hollywood.
We had breakfast at Marmalade Café with the family after church. Ethan was quiet as a mouse until Bob walked him down the aisle and he started to fuss. Bob dashed back to mom before he cried.
Uncle Kurt, Uncle Jare, Auntie Meaghan, and Eda May were all there too
