Poppies, The Musical Road and Sonic
Friday, May 1st we decided to get out of the house and took a drive to the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve through Green Valley. We made a quick turn off to check out the musical road (the kids favorite part) and had lunch at Sonic before heading home.
The Musical Road
Life keeps getting more interesting...
Wednesday, May 6th I was 1 of 20 laid off in my division at KB Home, after 9 years and 2 months. Apparently I need a break :) There are things I will and won't miss. Overall it has been an incredible opportunity that provided us with so much over the years. I'm especially going to miss my friend/co-worker, Rachel. I couldn't have asked for a better partner to laugh, vent and endure all the ups and downs with. I'm sad to leave her but glad she still has her job. Maybe I'll get to rejoin her one day. :)
In the meantime I've stayed busy... revised my resume, organized and cleaned baseboards, walls, cabinets, windows, blinds, patio furniture and started DuoLingo to learn Spanish...
You know, just relaxing and practicing for retirement ;)
Mother's Day
Friday, May 7th Jadyn and I brought Starbucks for our annual Mothers Day Breakfast. Honey, Bubba, Jadyn and I chatted in the backyard and enjoy a beautiful day, so nice for things to seem "normal".
We celebrated my Mother's Day at home on Saturday. Erik and the kids made cards and a wonderful french toast breakfast after our 6 mile run/walk.
It was a wonderful and relaxing day... Erik and I walked at Bridgeport, we ordered Numero Uno Pizza for dinner and watched Liar Liar. NOT a good kids movie, forgot about the vulgar content and language, oops! :)
Sunday we took lunch to Grama Jean and Papa's, swam and laid in the sun.
Yeah, that's raft fort he's building :)
Saturday, May 23rd the kids and I made Erik breakfast after our 6 mile run/walk. Erik smoked ribs and I made stuffed potatoes and corn on the cob for dinner in the backyard. I love birthdays!
Sunday, May 24th we celebrated at Grama Jean and Papa's with swimming and Mexican food!
Green Goblin or a fly?
Shenanigans
Erik and Jadyn have a silly game were each of them draws something and then alternate adding to the picture over several days until it just looks REALLY weird. These are just a few of their creations.
Jadyn's 6th Grade Emporium Project, Pocket Cat Co. They usually work in groups and sell their product at Open House, this year they worked independently but she wanted to make a prototype for extra credit/fun :)
